I regularly see requests for a possibility to change the PyBitmessage window style or font in this chan. Those, who interested, can try these experimental appimages: https://artifacts.bitmessage.at/appimage/27013/

------------------------------------------------------

Hello, spooky martians.

Bitmessage is a censorship-resistant and anonymizing message protocol.

With Bitmessage you can send encrypted private messages and participate in discussions in either public or secret channels.

Bitmessage provides also a broadcast feature so that other users can subscribe to your anonymous feeds.

Bitmessage also has a Distributed Mailing List feature which copies incoming messages to all users subscribed to the DML address. It works like the broadcast feature except instead anyone can broadcast via the same DML address while maintaining anonymity.

Unlike Usenet, Bitmessage articles contain no user account, server or header metadata, making it infeasible to impossible for an adversary to link messages to your IP address. Other protocols like email and Usenet have many natural tracking capabilities built in, whereas Bitmessage has no tracking features in its protocol.

When paired with the Tor protocol, PyBitmessage provides very strong anonymity. Bitmessage also has 100% delivery reliability and censorship evasion. When your message is forwarded to only one good peer it will eventually reach all good peers and your recipient will receive the message.

The PyBitmessage AppImage below linked now allows the user to select interface fonts without resorting to system QT settings. Now users need not open a second program to change the fonts. Selecting monospace + GTK provides a clean and slightly retro look. This nice feature reduces friction for Linux users running QT.

Share Bitmessage with others. Stay spooky.
