Server locks my IP,
generating Time out
if I try to get back to a group
The only way to get https://www.novabbs.com
to work back
is to reconnect to get a new IP address

Ok, that's useful info.
Can you determine what HTTP reply code you get? 403? 499? Something
else?
I found your ip address in the logs. I won't name it here, or the
provider.
It seems that someone is running a bot on that network (using the ip
address) and the address is getting blocked as a "rude" bot. Are the ip
addresses shared?
I'm going to loosen the trigger for the ban just a little...

I was mistaken, it's not a bot. Your side is making connections, then
dropping them before receiving data. That's a 499. It's also how some
ddos works, which is why the ip gets banned.

so I get dynamic IP
In the past I studied, some IP addresses are rated low, the same for
many domain names,
generating problem.
Not sure how gmail.com is rated today.
